The European Union is a partner for this year’s 16th International Economic Fair to be held in Mostar from 9th-13th April. The Fair is a big opportunity and incentive for local producers to agree on business cooperation and export to other countries. This year, a particular emphasis will be on education and possibilities that BiH can have with the European Union.
‘’This partnership is very important for us because we wish to help BiH on its path towards the EU, said the special representative of the EU to BiH Peter Sorensen for BHT.
Dalfina Bošnjak, the Director of the Fair, says that this year they expect the most number of funds from the EU and IPA in the area of education.
‘’That is our goal this year for the fair. Our economists are well recognized in this area, and this year we expect the most number of economists from BiH and the entire region’’, said Bošnjak.
Sorensen says that he still does not know the exact number of countries from the 27 EU member states that will participate this year at the Mostar Fair, but says that great interest has been generated from the EU.
‘The EU deals with economics and trade. That is why it is important that we are present at such events, and it is very clear that all countries that participate will benefit’’, said Sorensen.
The Fair in Mostar became one of the strongest fairs of its kind in the region. Last year there were around 850 exhibitors from around 30 countries.
In the last 15 years, several thousand business contracts have been signed, and this business community keeps returning to the Mostar Fair, according to Bošnjak.
