Leonel Sabanovic is an eleven-year-old boy who was born in Malmo, Sweden, and his parents came to this country from BiH. He is dealing with football, and his hobby is a freestyle that delights everyone.
“I was born in Malmo where I grew up as well, and my parents came to Sweden as very young. I have been playing football since I was six years old, and I am currently a member of the club Malmo City. Freestyle is my hobby, and it helps me a lot to play football. I am training three times a week and I play football matches every weekend. I play the midfielder position, and I use tricks to deceive my opponents quite often. I decided to dedicate myself to freestyle a year ago, I train after school, and I hang out with other freestylers from other cities on weekends,” said Sabanovic.
Although he said that freestyle is at the moment only a hobby for him, eleven-year-old Leonel achieved significant results.
“I participated in the Championship of Sweden this year, and I was among the 16 best freestylers of all ages. They told that I am probably the youngest person in the world that is competing at this level,” said young Leonel.
His idols are BH representatives Edin Dzeko and Miralem Pjanic, and he is hoping to follow their steps one day.
“Dzeko and Pjanic are my favorites, I follow their football matches in Italy and in the National football team of BiH. I am hoping to play in a bigger club in a few years, and as for the freestyle, I do not know if I will have time to do both. I already participated in the championship, it meant a lot to me, and I also sent videos from YouTube that were recorded in BiH for the competition on the Internet,” said Sabanovic.
“I started loving football because of my dad who was a youth representative back in the days, and I am grateful to my parents who are giving me great support. I am cheering for Malmo in Sweden, and for Zeljeznicar in BiH,” said young Sabanovic.
