They hydroelectric system “Elektroprivreda RS” is currently generating production volume by around 27 percent more than was planned for this year’s period.
The Directorate for Production of “Elektroprivreda RS” confirmed that daily production of electricity from hydropower plants these days is more than nine gigawatt-hours, and river flows are abundant. It was said that long-term stability of electrical production couldn’t account for the entire system, but that currently they can guarantee when it comes to the hydroelectric system on Trebišnjica.
“The hydropower on Trebišnjica is an accumulated hydrosystem and there has long been a plan for production on the basis of the current hydropower capability. Given that currently there is a large reservoir of water in Bileća, where elevation is 10 meters above the plan, which is around 200 gigawatt-hours above the plan, it is possible to announce the stable operation of power systems in the future’’, announced the Directorate for Production of “Elektroprivreda RS”.
They said that the flow of hydropower plants in Višegrad and Bočac, on the basis of current flow they cannot provide long-term production because they have reservoirs that provide production for one day (hydroelectric plant Višegrad) to seven days (hydroelectric plant Bočac).
Thermal power plants with a total production of “Elektroprivreda RS) accounts for 60 percent of total production.
In the last few years thermal power plants had a record production level.
