The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) adopted the 2018 – 2020 Economic Reform Program (ERP) for BiH, which includes a medium-term macroeconomic and fiscal framework, including fiscal measures, and a comprehensive structural reform program with aim of improving the country’s growth and competitiveness.
The new ERP strengthens and expands cooperation between the state and entities in the joint implementation of reforms in the areas of public finance, transport market, agriculture, forestry and water management, the business environment and the reduction of the informal economy, and also the linking of the labor market and education, more specifically enabling an increase of labor market efficiency. State level remains dedicated to trade and investment reforms, while the entities will work together to reduce workload and improve the health sector.
The new ERP with certain amendments by the chairman and ministers will be sent to the European Commission by the end of January this year.
The ERP 2018 – 2020 is the result of the joint work of the representatives of the Ministries of the BiH Council of Ministers, the Central Bank of BiH, coordinators appointed on behalf of the Government of the Federation of BiH and Republika Srpska, representatives of Entity Ministries, Directorate for Economic Planning and Cooperation with the European Commission, and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
