The best B&H tennis player Damir Dzumhur today found out his opponent in the first round of the Australian Open, which is Kyle Edmund from Britain. Popular Dzumi is happy for avoiding carriers, but he does not expect an easy task.
“It is good for sure when you avoid carriers in the first round, and therefore I can say that this draw was favorable for me. However, Edmund is a really good player, he is young, and a bright future is in front of him. He already has really good results and he is in the top form and it will not be easy. I expect a difficult match, especially because we will probably play on Monday at 36 °C. However, I believe I will play better in such weather conditions,” said Dzumhur.
Preparations are going as planned and he expects to win in the first round.
“I am training well, I want to transfer my game from training to the match. If I succeed, the victory should not be in question. I trained with Edmund in Doha, he is a great tennis player, and I’ll have to play long points. If I manage to calm him down, I’ll be able to turn the match in my favor,” said Dzumhur after the draw.
Dzumhur is 81st player on the ATP rankings, while Edmund occupies the 88th place.
