The President of Republika Srpska (RS) Milorad Dodik called a meeting today with representatives of the authorities of that BiH entity and agricultural producers to take up position on the proposed adaptation of the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA), on the eve of the meeting of the Presidency of BiH, on the 27th of June.
Authorities of RS so far claimed that they are against the adaptation of the agreement in the manner proposed, as it would mean enormous damage, up to 150 million BAM per year, for this BiH entity and that mechanism on how to compensate those has not been agreed yet.
“If we find that mechanism, and not just for one time, but for at least 5 years, there will be no problem,” said earlier Dodik, repeating that there is a lack of principles that Europe wants to help Croatia in order to place their non-competitive goods in the EU without customs duties in BiH.
He noted that regardless of the objections of the RS to the SAA, it does not mean “no” to the European road and agreement on this issue. President of this entity, on the meeting, invited representatives of the RS in the BiH institutions, the Government and the National Assembly, the Chamber of Commerce of RS and the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH.
The invitation was also sent to representatives of the Association of agricultural producers of milk, the Association of Agricultural Producers, the Association of Vegetable Growers and the Association of Fruit Growers of RS.
