Milorad Dodik, incumbent President of Republika Srpska and Zeljka Cvijanovic, entity Prime Minister attended the military exercise “The Victory Day 1918-2018”, which took place in Serbia at several locations.
Dodik said Serbia must have powerful armed forces to preserve peace, which provokes pride by Serbs who do not live in Serbia, is reported by RTRS.
The Serbian Armed Forces are better equipped than ever in recent history, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Saturday after watching one of the biggest exercises in Serbia in the past several decades which marked WWI 100th anniversary commemorations.
A joint tactical exercise with live fire was performed on Saturday by 8,000 members of the Serbian Armed Forces including the Army, Air Force and River Fleet, at Pasuljanske Livade training ground and nine other locations across the country.
The theme of the exercise was “Preparation and use of Serbian Armed Forces”. It involved 645 combat systems, 24 aircraft and about 125 tons of warheads.
He also announced that four new airplanes will increase the country’s air force fleet to the size of 14, while it will also receive Mi-35 and Mi-17 helicopters as well as nine Airbus helicopters H-145, Xinhua reports.
