Tour of the production plant of the Factory of detergents Dita in Tuzla and the laying of flowers at the memorial of the killed fighters were a way to mark the 39th anniversary of existence of this enterprise. Las year, workers of this factory in bankruptcy self-initiatively launched production in this former economic giant.
First they started producing four of their most famous products. As the time went by, the production assortment expanded and one year later Dita placed on the market all products that used to be present in every household in BiH.
As it is already known, Dita does not have its owner yet. No one applied to the second published public call for verbal bidding of interested parties for the taking over of this former giant.
Value of the property of the factory in bankruptcy was estimated to over 17 million BAM in the second round of the sale. The same price was kept in the third round that was opened several days ago and will be opened for 60 days.
President of the Workers’ Union of Dita Dževad Mehmedović says that the workers want the factory to get a real owner.
“Our direction is clear. We want to get a true strategic partner, we want the factory to survive and continue working. Here we have nearly 65 percent of workers who have three to five years left before retiring. We also want out youth to come and start working in this factory. Dita is now alive for 39 years and we want it to be alive for 100 years. We hope that all levels of authority will help us along the way,” Mehmedović said.
Dita currently employs nearly 70 workers who work on production of liquid and powder detergents, soaps, shampoos and laundry softeners. Operational costs are covered with revenues generated from sales.
