Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdic met yesterday in Sarajevo with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajcak and informed him about the current economic and political situation in BiH. They talked about the implementation of tasks on the path of BiH towards the EU and NATO integration.
Chairman Zvizdic thanked for the help and support given by the Minister Lajcak, and the Slovak Republic, during their presidency over the European Union. He noted that BiH has made visible progress in implementing reforms and is ready to take over the questionnaire of the European Union, which will be delivered to our country at the beginning of December.
Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Miroslav Lajcak praised and encouraged the efforts of the Council of Ministers of BiH headed by the Chairman Zvizdic to continue with the positive process. He said that the Slovak Republic is ending on the EU Presidency at the end of the year and he expressed satisfaction that BiH will receive a questionnaire of the European Union in this period. He expressed his desire for BiH to become a candidate and to start negotiations for accession to the EU.
They agreed that it is necessary to improve the process of reconciliation and to strengthen regional cooperation in the upcoming period.
Chairman Zvizdic emphasized that the European path has no alternative and that the Council of Ministers of BiH is persistently working on the implementation of all tasks and obligations towards EU integration. He noted that the European path is the most important foreign policy priority for BiH and he emphasized that this is a difficult and demanding process that is full of challenges and difficult reforms.
