Every country in the Western Balkans is committed to European integrations, and all the countries of the region are individually directed towards each other, as concluded yesterday at a conference on the topic of the economy held in Budva, which started on Thursday.
On the panel “The Region After Four Years of the Berlin Process”, that was attended by heads of the executive government from the Western Balkans countries, presidents of Montenegrin and Macedonian Government Dusko Markovic and Zoran Zaev, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdic and Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia, Rasim Ljajic, was stated that all the countries in the region have made a step forward on their path towards the EU.
Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdic reiterated the clear commitment of all Western Balkan countries to EU integrations, each country individually, throughout the whole region.
“I can speak on behalf of BiH that after a certain stoppage on our European path, we have significantly boosted our processes of European integrations thanks to the British-German initiative, and, if we ignore the statements of certain politicians from BiH, this is our most important foreign policy goal. The last survey conducted in BiH, where 78 % of participants opted for European integrations, which is a high percentage, tells enough about that,” stated Zvizdic.
He said that we do not want “in Europe for Europe”.
“We, as BiH, want to go to Europe for BiH and BH citizens. European integrations, EU membership, taking over the legal heritage of the EU means more organized society, better standards, better education and health, transfer of knowledge and experience, digitalization, investments, new workplaces, and ultimately peace and stability. For BiH and for the whole region, it is one of the most important factors, which is maybe even the most important one for the overall economic development and the increase of the living standards of our region,” said Chairman Zvizdic.
According to the president of the Government of Macedonia Zoran Zaev, the timing of when the Western Balkan countries will enter the EU depends on the states themselves.
