So far, it has been identified 110 remains of genocide victims who will find their peace in the Memorial Centre in Potocari on the 11th of July this year.
“We are expecting the arrival of citizens from the diaspora to confirm the identity of their beloved ones, and identification will be performed until the 1st of July. We will have a meeting of working group where we exchange information about the graves. We are checking any information that we receive regarding the graves, “said the investigator of the Institute for Missing Persons of BiH, Sadik Selimovic.
According to Selimovic, in the period from the 18th of July to the 1st of August, re-exhumation of previously identified and buried remains of genocide victims from July 1995 in Srebrenica will take place.
It was planned to perform exhumations of 120 victims, to which will be added parts of the skeleton that were subsequently found.
Sead Sakic from Srebrenica said for Fena that in July will be performed re-exhumation of the body of his father Husein Sakic, who was found in secondary mass grave in Zeleni Jadar and buried in 2003 at the Memorial Center in Potocari.
“I was recently informed that they found my father’s lower leg and the body has not been completed yet. The pain is stronger than when I saw him buried. I cannot describe the pain, the man feels like it all happened yesterday. It is extremely stressful and I’m in a situation of thinking whether to attend the re-exhumation,” said Sakic.
