The company Helioplast from Gracanica, which deals with the production of plastic packaging for food and non-food industry, and that grew from a small family workshop into a large and successful company recognizable on the international market, was acquisitioned by the British RPC Group a year and a half ago.
Shortly after a takeover, the Committee of the Group passed the decision to invest 3.5 million euros for the construction of a new facility in the form of expansion of the existing factory in Gracanica.
The investment in Helioplast, now RPC Superfos Balkans, is planned to start as early as this month, and the construction of the building in August this year.
“Upon the completion of the construction that will, hopefully, last for a year, 50 new job positions will be created in the municipality Gracanica, which indicates the extreme importance of this project for the local growth and development”, the company announced.
Foreign investment, job creation, and the impact on local growth and development are certainly important parameters and an example of a successful company such as Helioplast was before the acquisition and now within the British RPC Group.
Nerma Isakovic, the PR manager of the company, says that the new investments mean extending the production and storage capacity due to increase in the demand by 30-40 per cent compared to last year. Consequently, she states, the need to expand the capacity arose.
By investing in the expansion, the production should be doubled, and hiring of new workers is planned after the expansion, as well.
The company exports about 70 per cent of its production, mostly to the countries of the region such as Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, but also Austria, Cyprus, Dubai and, since joining the RPC Group, Germany and Denmark as well.
The success and the quality of production and the company’s business were not diminished even by the disastrous floods that hit B&H in May last year, which have caused financial damage to the company amounting to millions.
