Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bisera Turkovic participated in a video conference of foreign ministers of the Western Balkans and senior European Union officials.
During the video conference, Minister Turkovic spoke with the European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi, as well as numerous foreign ministers from the EU Member States.
Minister Turkovic emphasized the importance of continuing the implementation of necessary reforms with the aim of including our country in EU integration as soon as possible, and the need to further strengthen regional cooperation in all areas of primary interest to the economies of all Western Balkan and EU countries.
In addition, Turkovic emphasized that the European Union has once again proven itself as a strategic partner in the fight against the spread of COVID-19, and expressed confidence that the EU will support the implementation of numerous regional projects as soon as possible.
The conference focused on measures to recover and further combat the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, prospects for strengthening regional cooperation and EU integration capacities of the Western Balkans in the post-COVID-19 period, in the context of conclusions and declarations adopted at the recently held EU-Western Balkans Summit in Zagreb, under the Croatian Presidency of the EU Council.
