The Agency for Architecture and Design ‘’Archigreen” from Sarajevo sent a letter of intent to Old City municipality for the realization of the project “Our Passive House”, which would be the first passive object in BiH constructed in cooperation with state institutions and contractors of passive houses.
Passive houses, with their superb thermal insulation and use of energy from renewable resources, reduce energy expenditure by 10 times, and at the same time ensure maximum comfort. The realization of this project would begin in the Old Town.
These types of examples have already been applied in Austria, Croatia, Slovenia and other neighboring countries.
Old Town municipality will participate in this project and will provide adequate land for construction, and houses will be built by “Promo” d.o.o. as the main contractor and alongside subcontractors.
Upon the completion of the construction, passive houses will serve as an example for some time for contractors, where events and activities wil be organized tied to energy efficiency construction. During the ‘’Open Door of Passive Houses”, customers will be provided room and insight into the consumption of these types of houses.
Municipality Old Town, by accepting participation in this project, has chosen a part of the Old Town called Kovači. Since the municipality handed out the license under its name, houses will remain under the ownership of the Old Town.
After the Planning Department determines that houses could be built in that area in accordance with the Regulatory Plan of Kovači, they will begin issuing the necessary documents, and then construction will begin.
