The Delegation of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry attended the annual assembly of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) in Rome.
The advisors to the Minister Jerko Ivanković-Lijanović, Suad Čamdžić and the coordinator for international projects Ana Bašić were part of the BiH Delegation. They took the opportunity to have a meeting with the president of IFAD Kanayo F. Nwanze.
At the annual assembly of IFAD new members to the mission were introduced, where they spoke of the goal of improving business conditions in agriculture and summarized the achievements of the previous year. Additional activities include to meet with donors and representatives of member states that are members of IFAD.
The Bill Gates Foundation also operates in the IFAD with the goal of reducing poverty in the world.
The BiH Ambassador to Rome Nerzuk Arifović, representatives of the RS Ministry of Agriculture, BiH Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations also attended.
BiH is in the so-called NEM division of IFAD that has existing members from South Africa, Middle East and Southeast Europe, whose president is Halida Buzak from BiH is coming to BiH in the next few weeks.
IFAD has for many years already had a presence in the FBiH with its projects, and the main objective is to improve living conditions in the countryside.
