Bosnia and Herzegovina’s (BiH’s) basketball women team beat Switzerland 80-61 in the second round of FIBA Women’s EuroBasket 2021 Qualifiers on Sunday in Sarajevo.
In the first minutes of the first quarter, Jonquel Jones from the host team scores first points, bringing 4-points lead to BiH team, but the visiting team evened the result after one minute. The rest of the first quarter was an even play by both teams, but with lots of lost balls and misses on both sides. The first quarter ended 21-11 for the host team.
The second quarter was opened by the more defense play by Switzerland team, scoring first points in the first minutes and several three-points. Marica Gajic and Jonquel Jones from the host team showed defense play in the second quarter which ended 27-18 for the host team.
The third quarter brought fast game by both teams, and more defensive play by the visiting team ending 24-22.
The fourth quarter saw the slow play by both teams, ending 8-10 for the visiting team.
Jonquel Jones scored a game high-26 points for BiH team, while Alexia Rol had 17 points for Switzerland.
