In February, 49 323 tourists visited Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is 27.8 percent more compared to the same month last year, and eight percent more compared to January this year.
In the second month of this year, tourists accounted for 105 731 overnight stays, which is 36.8 percent more compared to February last year, and two percent more compared to January 2015.
According to the data of the Agency for Statistics of B&H, domestic tourists’ share in the total number of overnight stays is 43.2 percent, while the foreign tourists’ share is 56.8 percent.
The number of overnight stays of domestic tourists has increased by six percent compared to January, and by 22.5 percent compared to February 2014, while the number of foreign tourists’ overnight stays decreased by 0.8 percent compared to January and increased by 50.1 percent compared to February 2014.
In the overall structure of overnight stays of foreign tourists, most overnight stays were realized by tourists from Croatia – 27.6 percent, 21.4 percent by tourists from Serbia, 7.8 percent by tourists from Slovenia and 6.6 percent by tourists from Turkey, while tourists from other countries realized 36.6 percent of total overnight stays.
As for the length of stay of foreign tourists in B&H, South Africa is in the first place with 9.6 nights, and following are Iran with 4.3 nights, India with 3.9 nights, Ireland with 3.8 nights and Kuwait with 3.7 nights.
