Austria donated a total of 56 tents to BiH, which can accommodate 280 migrants. Tents will be deployed in the territory of Velika Kladusa, Bihac and Sarajevo, depending on needs.
The number of migrants is changing every day, according to the head of the Federal Operational Staff for Migrants, Izudin Livadic, and according to the latest information from the Service for Foreigners, a total of 7,919 illegal migrants reported so far and they mostly do not want to stay in BiH.
“The Government of the FBiH adopted the decision to give two locations for the accommodation of migrants – barracks Usivak in Hadzici and Agrokomerc in Velika Kladusa, and 29.800 BAM of VAT were paid for the import of donated goods,” stated Livadic.
“Austria is hoping to help BiH with solving this migrant situation. We are aware of the situation with migrants in the region and we helped BiH since we were in the same situation in 2015. We are here to support you,” said Johan Bazdek.
Director of Civil Protection Administration, Fahrudin Solak, stated that they are waiting for an agreement between the Government of Una-Sana Canton and Minister of Security Dragan Mektic on the locations where the aforementioned tents will be placed, and they will set up showers, toilets, aggregates and tanks with drinking water as well.
Assistant of the State Minister for Security and Migration Issues, Murveta Dzaferovic, noted that there are high quality tents and that families will be accommodated in them.
“We are working on the field since 5 a.m. and we are in cooperation with other subjects with the aim to implement everything ,” said Solak.
