Volunteers of the association Pomozi.ba, with the help of their donors and all the good people, have already organized iftar dinners for 2,000 people fasting, and their plan is to donate a total of 6,000 iftars by the end of Ramadan.
“We work in two ways. We prepare and organize joint iftars, but we also deliver iftar dinners to home addresses of the most endangered category of citizens: those who are unable, due to illness or their age, to come out of their homes,” said the founder of the Association Pomozi.ba, Elvir Karalic.
Their focus is placed on smaller towns and rural areas of BiH, but people from cities are not forgotten either. For the people who fast in Canton Sarajevo, meals are prepared in the kitchen of the association where are also prepared meals for the users of the “Meal for everyone (Obrok za sve)”.
Iftars are organized in Zeljezno polje, where volunteers went from house to house and distributed iftar dinners. They are planning to organize two more actions like this in this town and surrounding places by the end of the month of Ramadan.
Joint iftars were organized in Turbe and Karaula near Travnik, Livno, Kamenica, Korito near Fojnica, Zavidovici and surrounding places, and they supported an iftar in Zenica as well.
Association Pomozi.ba provided more than 14,000 iftar dinners in 2016, and the largest part of it was sent to the refugees from Syria. This year they secured around 1,000 iftar dinners for them.
Karalic noted that they will prepare iftars until the last day of Ramadan and all of those who wish to support this action can pay the money to the accounts of this organization.
