Today are marked 23 years since war crimes in Trusina village when members of the Army of BiH entered the village and killed 22 Croats, from which 18 were civilians and captured 4 members of the Croatian Defence Council.
The crime took place in morning hours, and it was committed by members of the Unit for Special Purposes “Zulfikar”.
For this crime were validly convicted Edin Dzeko to 13 years in prison and Rasema Handanovic, who was sentenced to five and a half years in prison. The Court of BiH for crimes in Trusina sentenced in the first instance Nihad Bojadzic to one year in prison, Nedzad Hodzic to 12 years in prison and Mensur Memic to 10 years in prison. Dzevad Salcin and Senad Hakalovic were legally acquitted from the responsibility for the crimes.
Association for Social Research and Communication (UDIK) pointed the crime that occurred in 1993 with yesterday’s performance on Fra Grga Martic Square in Sarajevo.
Anniversary of crimes in Trusina will be marked today by laying of wreaths and lighting candles at a memorial in the village, after which will be served the Mass at the local cemetery.
Marking ceremony will be attended by family members and friends of the victims, representatives of veterans associations from the Homeland War and representatives of political, cultural and religious life.
