In the first round of the tennis tournament Roland Garros in Pariz played yesterday, the best BH tennis player Damir Džumhur weighed forces with the Russian tennis player Mikhail Youzhny, who surrendered the match after our tennis player led with 2:0 in sets.
Džumhur came to the break in the first set at the result of 2:2 in games and led with 3:2, and then used his service and increased to 4:2. The second break brought to the BH tennis player an advantage of 5:2, and then after his service and 25 minutes he won the first set. The result was 6:2.
The popular Džumi opened the second set very well and immediately made a break for the lead of 1:0. However, Youzhny instantly responded with a break and evened the result at 1:1. Džumhur again made a break and led with 2:1, and then increased his advantage to 3:1. Another break brought the excellent Džumhur an advantage of 4:1 against Youzhny. Our tennis player was confident with his serve and increased to 5:1, and then made another break to win the second set, which lasted for 38 minutes, with the result of 6:1.
At the beginning of the third set, Youzhny surrendered the match to Džumhur, who became the first BH tennis player ever to play in the second round at Roland Garros.
Youzhny was the eighth player in the world, appeared in 21 final of the ATP tournament and won 10 trophies. The Russian won against the big names in the world of tennis like Novak Đoković, whom he has defeated three times, as well as Rafael Nadal, against whom he won four times.
In the second round, Džumhur will play against the winner of the duel Ivo Karlović-Marcos Baghdatis.
