The Agency for halal quality certification awarded the first Halal Certificates on this day 11 years ago.
Out of the total number of halal-certified companies, 111 companies are active in the system of permanent supervision and control.
These companies are placing more than 6,500 halal products on both domestic and foreign markets. Doors of halal markets of Gulf countries are opened for halal certified companies from BiH since 2012.
In the past period, the Agency has issued more than 200 halal transport certificates required for entering the halal market.
The Agency for halal quality certification awarded the first halal certification for companies in Croatia in 2007 in cooperation with the Islamic Community in Croatia. The Agency certified 21 companies in Croatia during the next three years, after which halal certification was taken over by the Center that was established by the Islamic Community in Croatia.
The first halal certificates in Serbia were awarded in 2008, and halal certification in Montenegro and Macedonia started in the year of 2011. The Agency provides halal certification services independently or in co-operation with other certification companies in several EU countries since 2016.
Besides the basic certification activities, the Agency gives special attention to education, relations with consumers, industry, and institutions. For the 10th anniversary of halal certification, the Agency released the mobile application Halal Bazar. The application contains all the information about halal certified companies, products, and services within the activity of the Agency. Around 5,000 users downloaded the application so far.
