John Cleese, the legendary British comedian and star of Monty Python landed at the International Airport Sarajevo yesterday, where he was welcomed by the crew of the Sarajevo Film Festival.
He will receive the “Honor Heart of Sarajevo” for the extraordinary contribution to film art tonight, as part of the 23rd edition of the SFF.
He will address the festival audience tonight at 8:30 PM in the Summer Cinema Raiffeisen at the awarding ceremony of the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo. On that occasion, within the Open Air program, his cult action comedy “A fish called Wanda” will be screened in Metalac Cinema.
This famous film from 1988 features Kevin Kline, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Palin, Maria Aitken, Tom Georgeson and Patricia Hayes.
The British actor, screenwriter, producer and comedian John Cleese was born on October 27, 1939, and he became famous for his roles in the humorist series “Monty Python’s Flying Circus” and “Fawlty Towers” as well as the feature films “Monty Python and the Holy Grail”, ” Life of Brian” and “A fish called Wanda”.
Besides his work with comedies, Cleese founded the business training company Video Arts with Sir Anthony Jay, which produced more than 120 training videos in the period of 20 years and became the largest company of its kind outside the US.
