A team of experts from the Louvre Museum has arrived today in the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), making the first step in developing a cooperation between these two institutions.
“During a three-day visit, hosts planned delegation to tour the collections and permanent exhibitions of the National Museum, to assess the situation and and to get acquainted with work in the museum. Moreover, delegation from the Louvre will have an insight into the documentation at the Departments for Archeology, Ethnology, Natural Sciences, Conservation and Libraries of the National Museum of BiH. At the end of the visit, on June 30th, a press conference will be held in the Botanic Garden at 10:45 o’clock,” was stated from the museum.
To recall, in December last year, Minister of Civil Affairs of BiH Adil Osmanović and Ambassador of France to BiH Claire Bodonyi spoke about the possibilities for cooperation in the fields of culture and sports. Special attention was dedicated to the situation in the National Museum of BiH in Sarajevo, and the French Ambassador announced that her country will help in the process of arrangement of a room for the preservation of Haggadah.
Ambassador Bodonyi also said that the French museum Louvre expressed interest in cooperation, with the aim of creating staff for quality management in the National Museum of BiH.
