The Ambassador of Sweden to BiH Anders Hagelberg announced that his country will continue to support BiH on its European path, and further noted that the Western Balkan countries are in the focus of their activities in order for them to join the European Union as soon as possible.
He said that during the meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH and Minister of Finance and Treasury of BiH Vjekoslav Bevanda.
Minister Bevanda expressed his gratitude to the authorities of Sweden for their continued financial support in all areas that are important for improvement of the living conditions in BiH.
During the meeting was noted that the Agreement on Development Cooperation 2014-2020 is very important for BiH and that the main aim of this cooperation in the upcoming period is to achieve democratic and sustainable development, through the fulfillment of conditions for the accession to the EU.
Moreover, Bevanda further noted the importance of the project “Public Investment Planning and Management System – PIPMS”, which is in the final stage of approval from Sweden Sida and he also noted the urgency of its approval since it contributes to the strengthening of the public finance sector in BiH and increases efficiency of public investments and debt management, which are the priority measures defined in the Reform Agenda of BiH, as announced by the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH.
