A possible project for the construction of the International Airport in Brcko District was presented this week by Sasa Murtic, a member of the Slovenian consortium through which foreign investors invest in various projects around the world.
Presenting the project, Murtic pointed out that the geographical position of the Brcko District is very good when it comes to railway, road, water and air traffic, and emphasized that it can be spread very rapidly in all parts of the world. Moreover, he stressed the fact that it can for a very short time, in a couple of years, take over many jobs in Belgrade, Zagreb, as well as many other airports in this part of the Balkans.
He pointed out that digitization in the world caused rapid sales of goods, making airports ideal for deliveries of products, semi-products, and raw materials. Moreover, he added that the location for the airport in Brcko is ideal because the area is fairly straight and there is not much fog in this area, which is very important.
Construction of the airport would attract many investors who would like to produce and process their job in BiH.
The project is worth 400 million euros, namely the materials, infrastructure and construction, which would eventually remain in the District, Murtic explained.
In addition, Murtic clarified that this would be a small airport, with around 1,000 workers employed.
Investors have only one condition, asking everything to be legal from the administrative side.
