Children from Sarajevo will have the opportunity to participate in a real cycling party at Wilson’s Promenade for the ninth year in a row.
It is a traditional event Giro Bambino, which is organized by bicycle association from Sarajevo Giro di Sarajevo to mark the end of the school year.
“We all went to school and we all know that feeling of joy when summer holiday is in front of us. We want to open those happy days for all children, as well as those boys and girls who have not even started going to school yet, said Emir Hulusic, Team Manager of the Association Giro di Sarajevo.
He added that they prepared a great program for little Sarajevo cyclists, and parents and professional cyclists will be included in the whole event.
“Our goal is to get cycling closer to children of Sarajevo so that they learn that it is a great way to exercise as well as transport from an early age. We are aware of the issue of traffic jams in Sarajevo and we have been promoting cycling as one of the solutions for a long time. It is up to the government to start to respond more actively when it comes to the needs of the population regarding the cycling infrastructure,” added Hulusic.
Little cycling holiday will be held on Sunday, June 11, on Wilson’s Promenade, starting at 3 PM, and registration will be open an hour earlier and will last throughout the entire event. All participants will go through training ground where they will drive individually, and the luckiest ones will receive valuable gifts including cycling equipment and a bike.
