The Bosnian-Herzegovinian Film Festival (BHFF) in New York announced winners of the Golden Apple for the 14th annual film festival.
The film “Refugee 532” by Goran Kapetanovic, in which 12 years old refugee Sevko adjusts to his new life in Sweden, and overcoming hardships and waiting for news from home, won BHFF 2017 Golden Apple for the best short film.
The film “No Smoking in Sarajevo” by Gianluca Loffredo, which represents a retrospective on cult Bosnian rock band No Smoking (Zabranjeno Pusenje), as well as the period which introduced the movement New Primitivism into the region, won the 2017 BHFF Golden Apple for the best documentary film.
The film “A Good Wife” by Mirjana Karanovic, which tells the story about a woman whose life is shaken by the discovery of a videotape that implies that her husband was engaged in war crimes, won the award 2017 BHFF Golden Apple for the best feature film.
“A Good Wife“ is a powerful film that is awarded for a relevant, timely and courageous screenplay with the important topic and skillful storytelling and cinematography.
A film by Danis Tanovic “Death in Sarajevo”, which is a strong satire that reflects the uncertainty of modern Europe, won the audience award BHFF 2017 Golden Apple for the best film.
