A member of the Presidency of BiH from the ranks of Bosniak people, Bakir Izetbegovic, confirmed to Al Jazeera that he will not seek for the review of the constitutionality of the name of BH entity of the RS.
When asked how true are statements of some officials from the RS that he intends to challenge the name of that entity with the appeal, he replied that “there were such ideas in the past,” but now he is not planning to raise that issue.
“There were such ideas ten years ago, at the time of the acceptance of the appeal of my late father (Alija Izetbegovic) on constituent peoples who must be constituent in the name. However, it was concluded that there’s no way for that at that moment,” said Izetbegovic.
He also spoke about the proposal of the federalization of BiH, which was proposed by the Croatian National Council in BiH.
When asked whether any of what was proposed by the member of BH Presidency from the Croatian people, Dragan Covic is acceptable for him, he said that the Croatian National Council “this time openly came out with a request that can be characterized as a request for a third entity”.
“We from the SDA and I, have said many times before that any new ethnic division is unacceptable for us,” said Izetbegovic.
