BiH did not have to wait too long for the first European medals in alpine skiing for people with disabilities. For this is responsible Ilma Kazazic, a young girl with cerebral paralysis, who won the bronze medal in early January at the races in Austria, and then the silver medal in Switzerland.
Kazazic has grown into a respectable athlete for a short time, under the sponsorship of the Paralympic Committee of BiH and professional work of Professor Turkovic, and her persistence is admired by many people even beyond the borders of our country.
BH duo, Ilma Kazazic and Fahrudin Catovic, had their first joint appearance, sponsored by the Paralympic Committee, on the 6th and 7th of January in Rinn, where Kazazic won the fourth place after the first run and Catovic was eighth.
On the second day of the race, Kazazic managed to reach the third position and win bronze medals, while Catovic missed the medal because of an error in the last part of the trail, in front of the target.
After the race in Rinn, Kazazic went to the Swiss city of Veysonnaz for the European Cup, which was held on the 8th and 9th of January.
On the first day of competition in giant slalom Ilma finished in the third place, and the next day in slalom in the second place.
With this performance at the European Cup and winning the silver and bronze medals, Kazazovic recorded a historic result for the Paralympic Committee of BiH.
