Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH spoke with the delegation of the IFC, led by the Director of IFC Tomasz Telma, yesterday in Sarajevo.
Chairman Zvizdić expressed satisfaction with previous cooperation with international finance institutions and thanked for all projects implemented in the past twenty years. He presented the achieved results in the past period regarding implementation of the Reform Agenda and said that 53 percent of the planned measures have been implemented at the level of BiH in 12 months, noting that the Reform Agenda was adopted for the period of four years.
“With the help of international monetary institutions, which participate in projects in BiH with their funds and joint strategies with the Council of Ministers of BiH, we managed to develop the country and preserve peace and stability,” said Zvizdić during the meeting.
Director of IFC congratulated Zvizdić on the acceptance of the BiH application for membership in the EU and praised the progress of BiH in the implementation of tasks from the Reform Agenda. He said that international monetary institutions will keep providing support for BiH in the future as well.
Zvizdić and Telma agreed that it is necessary to improve the business and investment environment in BiH. Chairman Zvizdić said that it is necessary to provide funds for small and medium enterprises within the structure of funds of international monetary institutions, in order to create conditions for employment of young people in BiH and in order to implement projects in the field of energy sustainability.
The meeting was also attended by the Regional Director of IFC for Western Balkans Thomas Lubeck, Director of the World Bank for Southeastern Europe Ellen Goldstein, and Head of Department of World Bank for BiH and Montenegro Tatiana Proskuryakova.
