The Ministry of Finance and Treasury notes that all the conditions that were at the level of B&H are met and on the 8th August will be sent a formal request to the Commission for the payment of 50 million euros.
“The technical part of the agreement is being finalized, after that it will be submitted the request. We have regular communication with the Commission and the Delegation, and at least as much as we have information, we do not expect problems”, explained the Ministry of Finance and Treasury for “Nezavisne novine”.
Whether the money will be approved by the end of August, as was pointed out, depends on the Federation of B&H, given the fact that the only remaining condition is up to the government of that entity, and refers to the financial coordination between the government of Federation and the cantons.
The Assistant of the Minister at the Department of Budget and Public Expenditure in the Ministry of Finance of FB&H, Ali Aljović says that even the last condition is completely achieved, because the Government of FBiH adopted even in the parliamentary procedure the law on fiscal responsibility.
The Commissioner for EU Enlargement Štefan File said in February at a meeting in Brussels that the second part of the assistance, 50 million euros (out of a total amount of 100 million euros) will be paid to B&H after fulfilling the required conditions.
When was given the first amount, File said that this help is a sign of confidence of EU member states that B&H is committed to meeting its obligations under the European integration.
File said that Brussels expects from politicians in B&H to put more efforts and to provide functional institutions at all levels, faster structural reforms, as well as better coordination of politics in B&H.
