The team from Bosnia and Herzegovina participated at the prestigious traditional 34th MOSTRATEC International Project Competition, which was held from 22 to 24 October this year in the city of Novo Hamburgo in Brazil.
Lamija Balic presented Bosnia and Herzegovina and her Richmond Park College in Sarajevo in the best way, winning a bronze medal in the category of all international projects and also a bronze medal in the category of environmental sciences. This competition was preceded by the BOSEPO Scientific Olympiad of projects where Lamija won a gold medal and the right to participate in this prestigious international competition. Through the BOSEPO Olympics, Lamija also won a silver medal at the Genius International Olympiad in New York, according to Richmond Park College.
The project with which Lamija presented our country is about the production of bioplastics from natural materials, which is not harmful to the environment and organisms, and decomposes very quickly. The problem with plastic products was the cause of this research project.
This year, 752 research projects from the USA, Russia, China and 18 other countries were presented at the 34th MOSTRATEC International Olympiad. The students had the opportunity to represent their country as part of the “culture day” at the same competition.
