In April 2018 tourists realized 127,233 tourist arrivals in Bosnia and Hercegovina which represent the increase of 45.8% as compared to March 2018 and increase by 13.9% as compared to April 2017.
Tourists realized 246,230 tourist nights which represent the increase of 35.5% as compared to March 2018 and increase by 14.5% as compared to April 2017. Domestic tourists share of a total number of overnight stays was 27.0% and foreign tourists share was 73.0%.
The number of domestic tourist nights increased by 8.3% as compared to March 2018 and increased by 11.7% as compared to April 2017. Foreign tourist nights increased by 49.5% as compared to March 2018 and increased by 15.5% as compared to April 2017.
Concerning the structure of foreign tourist nights in April 2018, the most of them (54.5%) were realised by tourists from: Croatia (14.7%), Turkey (8.8%), Serbia (7.5%), Slovenia (7.0%), Germany (6.7%) Italy (5.2%) and UAE (4.6%). Tourists from other countries realized 45.5% of tourist nights.
Regarding the average detention of foreign tourist stays in our country on the first place comes Ireland with average stay by 4.0 nights, South Africa 3.7 nights, Kuwait 3.5 nights, Malta 3.3 nights and UAE by 3.1 nights.
Available rooms, apartments and camping sites for tourists in Bosnia and Herzegovina in April 2018 amounted to 20,805, which is 12.0% increase compared to April 2017. A number of available beds was 44,422, which is an increase by 5.7%, compared to the same month of 2017.
In April 2018, in the activity – Hotels and similar accommodation, number of rooms and apartments available to tourists amounted to 16,981, which is an increase of 3.6% compared to April 2017., and number of available beds amounted to 35,568 which is an increase of 6.9%, compared to the same month of the previous year. The net occupancy rate of permanent beds was 20,9%.
According to the type of accommodation facility, the highest number of nights was recorded in Hotels and similar accommodation with a share of 92.5%.
