The Athletic Club Novi Grad organized the second open race on 10 kilometers – Igman 10 K, which took place yesterday in Veliko Polje within the 11th round of the Athletic Recreational League (ARL).
This event gathered a large number of participants, lovers of running and nature at an altitude of 1,190 meters.
Members of EUFOR who are stationed in Camp Butmir took part in the race as well as members of LOT teams.They achieved great results again this time, and a numerous runners even improved their personal time in comparison to last year’s race.
According to Elmir Cerimagic, the president of the Athletic Club Novi Grad Sarajevo that is the organizer of this sports event, a total of 123 people ran in Veliko Polje, while 154 children participated in the Quickie children’s athletics league.
All participants received medals for passing through the finish line and the first three places in both men and women categories received statues and valuable prizes from this year’s sponsors.
In the category of men, this year’s winner was Alija Imamovic, a member of the Athletic Club Novi Grad with the time 0: 34.49, in the second place went to Zaim Suman from AC Gorazde, while third place went to Kosta Sumar from AC Bosna, Sarajevo.
When it comes to women competition, Alma Hrnjic from AC Novi Grad won the first place with a score 0: 44.38, the second place went to Hanifa Terzic, member of ARL, and the third place went to Merima Pindzo from AC Novi Grad.
